Sword of an Officer of the King’s Bodyguard, 1814 model, with a simplified mount. Hilt covered in sheepskin, with a watermark. Simplified mount, in chiselled, gilded brass. Pommel with a long tail. Four-pronged guard, featuring a shell bearing the Arms of France, oak and laurel leaves on a bundle of flags. Quillon cut in the shape of a fleur-de-lis. Fitted with a double-edged sword blade with two hollows, engraved, gilded and blued to one-third of its length, decorated with foliage and marked on one side ‘Manufacture de Klingenthal’ and on the other ‘Coulaux frères’.
