Description
Patriotic frame. A flag bearing the words ‘Heart of Jesus’ and ‘Save France’. The Sacred Heart was often carried by the ‘poilus’ as a talisman to seek divine protection during the battles of 1914–1918. The frame also contains a Croix de Guerre, a Croix du Combattant and a Legion of Honour. A fine memento of past sacrifice. Collection possible once the auction has ended, subject to the usual conditions.
