Description
Katana type Japanese sword - World War II (20th century). Japanese officer's guntō type sabre, World War II military mount. Single-edged curved blade, length 69 cm, with a gutter (bo-hi) and a fine overall line. Polished blade (old restoration), with traces of use and light pitting visible on the surface. Characteristic military frame: Tsuka (handle) covered with braid (ito) on ray skin (same), with wear. Regulation shape metal hilt (tsuba). Brown lacquered metal scabbard (saya) with side suspension ring. Overall length: 95 cm. Homogeneous set, typical of Japanese officers' sabres from the 1930-1945 period. Good overall condition, wear from use, superficial oxidation on the scabbard.
