Description
A photographic enlargement showing a crew from the 385th Bomb Group returning from the first daytime raid on Berlin on 6 March 1944.
The gunners are collecting their weapons to clean them and handing their escape pouches back to their officer. This pouch contained a silk map and currency from the area overflown, as well as photographs of the airman in civilian clothes, intended for use by the Resistance in producing false papers. Mounted under glass.
