Description
Book: ‘B-24 Liberator’ Published in 1993 by Schiffer Publications, this book is the very first volume in a major historical series by John M. Campbell and Donna Campbell (already renowned for their series of books on nose art). This large-format book compiles hundreds of period photographs, including more than 70 colour images dating directly from the 1940s. Most of these photographs had never been published before the book’s release. This book details military markings and nose art (personalised paintings on the noses of aircraft). It covers all versions of the B-24 Liberator heavy bomber, from the early B-24C models to the late-war versions, including the patrol and maritime attack variants: the PB4Y-1 and PB4Y-2 Privateer. Another key feature is that the book documents the use of this legendary aircraft across all the various theatres of operations (Europe, the South Pacific, Italy, North Africa and the China–Burma–India Front). Volume 1. 256 pages. Book in English. (Grégory Pons Collection)
