Description
Pair of USSAF Type A-6 flight boots A pair of modified USAAF Type A-6 flight boots, size Large, manufactured by Bristolite. Not to be confused with the similar-looking A-6A model (which bears the marking ‘Type A6-A’ on the label) but which was standardised after the war. This is the correct model worn in combat, which has become increasingly rare over the years. USAAF insignia on the upper of each boot. One of the tightening straps at the top of the upper has been cut off at the end. The sole is in perfect condition; there are cracks along one of the rubberised edges, and the zips have been replaced, though the repair appears to be period-correct: quite typical given the age of this equipment and the material used.
