A-2 goatskin flight jacket (size 38) Manufacturer: Spiewak & Sons Mfg. Co., 1942 The Type A-2 flight jacket was adopted as the official jacket of the US Air Corps in May 1931. It is made from dyed and waterproofed horse leather, although goat leather was used in the final years of production due to the scarcity of horse leather. This is the case with this example from Spiewak & Sons in size 38. The jacket is in excellent condition, complete with its original zip fastening and lining.
