Description
"50 Missions" cap in green gabardine, by Bancroft (May 1943 – February 1945) (size 8)
A ‘Flighter’-style cap from Bancroft, made from olive drab gabardine in the style of a Second World War officer’s cap. This is a ‘50 Missions’ or ‘Crusher’ cap, very popular amongst aircrew, featuring a soft leather peak and a soft crown specifically designed for aviation to allow the use of head-band headphones. The Bancroft model is one of the most sought-after by pilots of the 8th Air Force. The cap on offer is in excellent condition and is marked size 8.
