Estimate €300 - €400
Description
AN-H-16 + HS-38 headband (size L) Manufacturer: Bradley Goodrich Inc. 1944 Type AN-H-16 flight cap, manufactured like the Type B-6 from sheepskin, and designed specifically for bomber gunners, who were most exposed to the cold. It retains the two drawstrings found on the B-5 and B-6 models; however, the lining of the front section (visor) is made of leather lined with chamois. The AN-H-16 also features an adjustable chin strap fitted with a press stud, as on the Type AN-H-15, and a leather neck flap. Only 40,000 AN-H-16s were produced between 1943 and 1944. This example is in very good condition but has a small tear in the leather at the back of the headband. The label states the manufacturer as Bradley Goodrich Inc., 1944, and the size as Large.
