Description
ETO officer’s dress jacket, “British Made”, Spec. No. U/1187C (size 40L)
Manufacturer: Coep & Co. 1944
Officer’s jacket made from green to dark brown wool gabardine, lined with rayon, designed in Great Britain in 1943 and produced until 1944. It features two slit pockets, two shoulder tabs, a drawstring at the waist and two at the sleeves. It fastens at the front with four plastic buttons and two on the inner placket, which acts as a windbreak. This example is in excellent condition. The label states the manufacturer, Coep & Co., the date of production, 1944, and the size, 40L – ‘L’ standing for ‘Long’, which explains the four buttons, whereas the ‘Regular’ version has only three.
