Description
AN-H-15 + HS-38 canvas headband (size L), late 2x3 version Manufacturer: Bates Shoe Co., 1944 AN-H-15 flight cap, introduced in April 1943. It is made of beige cotton canvas fitted with black rubber ear cups designed to hold the ANB-H-1 headphones and, on the inside, foam cushions that wrap around the ears. The press studs for attaching the oxygen mask are fitted directly during manufacture, here in rows of three, secured to black leather reinforcement pieces. The headband features a leather chin strap lined with beige velvet, secured by a prong buckle on the left-hand side and a press stud on the other. The item on offer is in excellent condition; it is a large size (Large) produced by Bates Shoe in 1944 and has only one minor flaw on a press stud on a loop at the rear left of the headpiece.
