Description
Dark brown B-6 headband + HS-38 (size M) Type B-6 flight cap made from sheepskin, standardised in December 1941 and fitted with leather ear flaps for ANB-H-1 headphones and press studs for A-10A or A-14 oxygen masks. The ear cups are secured by two concentric semi-circular seams, allowing the headphones to be removed from their housings. The unsewn section fastens with two small press studs. The slit is designed to allow the cable to pass through. This example is in excellent condition and is notable for having been reconditioned in a workshop in 1943, with a brown varnish sprayed over the entire exterior, including the metal fittings.
