Description
Winter Flying Gauntlet Type A-9 Standardised in 1935, the A-9 gloves were winter gloves intended primarily for bomber gunners. They are designed as a mitten with a free index finger to facilitate the handling of weapons and, depending on the role, are worn over heated gloves or rayon undergloves. The Type A-9 is made of pigskin lined with sheep’s wool. The item on offer is in excellent condition with its label sewn inside. Size Medium. 1942 contract. The Type A-9 is much rarer than the Type A-9A, which appeared in 1944. (Mathieu Bianchi Collection)
