Description
[CHASSEPOL, François de]. *La Promenade de Livry*. Lyon, Thomas Amaulry, 1678. In-12 (15 x 8 cm), ivory vellum with overcover. Red edges. 6 ff., 140–144 pp. (two parts in one volume). Paper slightly yellowed. Handwritten bookplate on the title page of the first part. A Lyon edition of this collection of short fictional tales, dedicated to Antoinette Des Houlières, whom the author proclaims to be ‘the best friend in the world’. The printing licence was granted to Claude Barbin in April 1678, who subsequently ceded it to Thomas Amaulry. A work attributed by Paul Lacroix to François de Chassepol (see entry in the Millot catalogue – 1846). The latter had published another work of fiction that same year with Barbin: *Histoire des Amazones*.
