Folio (37.5 x 30.5 cm), loose sheets in the publisher’s cardboard slipcase. 4 unnumbered folios and 24 plates (out of 50). Tears and losses to the slipcase. A magnificent and extensive series of 24 phototype plates mounted on card, based on drawings by the Austrian artist Franz von Bayros, with captions in scrolls. Limited edition of 500 copies; this is no. 46. Franz von Bayros (1866–1924), an Austrian draughtsman, illustrator and painter, also known as the Marquis de Bayros, is often compared to two other artists and creators of erotic works, Aubrey Beardsley and Félicien Rops. He is famous for his controversial portfolio *Erzählungen am Toilettentische* (Tales at the Dressing Table). Plates in excellent condition.
