A series of twelve erotic colour compositions by Gerda Wegener to illustrate the work of the Divine Aretino, published in the Bibliothèque des Curieux. Gerda Wegener (1886–1940), a Franco-Danish portraitist, genre painter, caricaturist, draughtswoman and illustrator; famous for her sophisticated portraits inspired by Art Nouveau and Art Deco, as well as for her avant-garde marriage to Einar Wegener, who later became Lili Elbe.
