Description
FORTIN DE LA HOGUETTE, Hardouin. Missale metropolitanum et primatialis ecclesiae Senonensis. Senonis [Sens], published by Claudius Augustus Prussurot & Andreas Jannot, 1715. folio (38 x 25 cm), full red morocco, richly gilded decoration on the spine and framing the covers. Coat of arms faded from the centre of the covers. Gilded edges, tab ends. 616–clxviii pp. Binding damaged; endpapers and leather of the binding have come away. Edition commissioned by Fortin de la Hoguette, Archbishop of Sens, whose coat of arms appears on the title page. The illustrations, entirely engraved on copper, consist of large vignettes at the head of each section, a frontispiece and four plates depicting the Nativity, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection and the Assumption of the Virgin.
