In-12, brown marbled calfskin, ribbed spine, fleurons within a double gilt frame between the ribs, gilt title on a brown leather label, guilloché edges, marbled edges. Contemporary binding.

Some scuffing, corners slightly creased.
Second edition, revised by Rondet, of this treatise by Abbé Gauthier (1696–1780), who attempts to demonstrate the harmful influence of lewd dances and songs by drawing on the Holy Scriptures.
A fine copy of this singular testament to the obscurantism that persisted during the Age of Enlightenment.
