In-12 (16.5 x 11 cm), Bradel-style vellum with overcover, plain spine, title and author’s name in small gilt lettering. Three gilt edges. Slipcase. Modern binding. 8 ff. 158 pp. and privilege. First French edition of this rare treatise on Provençal jurisprudence, published in Aix-en-Provence in 1627, printed by Jean Tholosan and Estienne David (the King’s printers). The work was originally composed in Latin by Claude Margalet (a lawyer at the Court of Appeals of Provence), then translated, annotated and expanded to include several unpublished statutes and judgements by his son, Jean Margalet. In excellent condition.
