In-8, red half-maroquin with corner pieces, ribbed spine highlighted with dotted gold fillets, panels adorned with a framing design, gilt head, covers and spine preserved. Binding signed Louis Gilbert. 343 pp., frontispiece, illustrations in the text, headbands, initials and end-papers in colour. Minor soiling to the binding. Illustrated edition featuring original compositions by Georges Barbier. Limited edition of 1,099 copies; this is one of the 921 numbered copies on Rives paper (no. 599). A fine copy with its covers, well bound.
