Portrait as a frontispiece to volume 1. Slight scuffing. Fourth edition published in Paris, revised, corrected and expanded. A famous and important history of Paris, which greatly amused contemporaries as it offers a very vivid picture of the customs and practices of the time. The first edition of this series appeared in 1754–1757, and it went through five editions by the end of the Ancien Régime. A fine copy.
