2 volumes in 1 vol. in-12 of 9 ff. 236 pp, 4ff. 216 pp, brown calf, richly decorated ribbed spine, antique red title-piece, cold fillet framing the boards, roulette on the edges and the chasses, red edges (18th century binding).
First collective edition and first illustrated edition. Three editions appeared in the same year; this one is from the first edition, according to the indications given by the various bibliographers.
Title-frontispiece and 58 mid-page vignettes engraved by R. de HOOGHE. A portrait of the author by Devéria has been added at the beginning.
A very fine copy with very fine old restorations (spines, headpieces and corners).
