Small in-4 (23 x 16 cm), half-basane, smooth spine, black title (contemporary binding).
French edition illustrated with 30 beautiful double-page celestial maps mounted on tabs. The plates for the southern hemisphere are by Abbé de La Caille. The text contains the positions of the principal stars for the first of January 1800, and a method for recognising the constellations and the stars of which they are composed.
Binding worn (leather missing, spines split, headbands torn off, corners worn), otherwise fine atlas.
