Attributed to Georges Emile Henri SERVANT (1828–c. 1890)
A rare and important set of chiselled, gilded bronze and cloisonné enamel pieces comprising a planter and a pair of vases.
The planter features two handles decorated with figures of women dressed in ancient style, framed by garlands of laurel. The body, decorated with foliage and floral scrolls in enamel, is adorned with satyr masks and friezes of rows of pearls, leaves and posts. The feet are connected by a band and rest on a quatrefoil base.

The baluster vases feature the same decoration of satyr masks framed by laurel garlands; the handles are in the form of sylphs (one foot is missing)

Georges-Emile-Henri Servant, active between 1855 and 1890, won a gold medal at the Paris World’s Fair in 1867 for his work as an artistic bronze castor
