SILVER - FRANCE - 50 francs, HYBRID type, 1974, obverse of 20 francs (G 882a).
Note: In 1973, plans had been made to mint a 20-franc coin. However, due to the rise in the price of silver, this plan was revised in favour of creating a 50-franc coin with a modified design. Nevertheless, a few examples from the run that had already begun – featuring the reverse design of the 20-franc coin (with a wider base for Hercules’ pedestal) – were issued.
