A circular, lidded box made of blue enamelled glass, resting on a chiselled and gilded bronze mount decorated with a frieze of acanthus and laurel leaves, the lid accented with a beaded frieze, decorated with a Chinese-style scene surrounded by palmette friezes, revealing a padded jewellery compartment. The whole rests on four lion-paw feet surmounted by fire pots and cascading flowers. 13.5 x 19.5 cm. 19th century. (signs of wear and restoration).
