Description
Louis XV period. Moulded and carved walnut armchair with carved flowers on the back and in the centre of the front crosspiece. Fan-shaped connecting pieces. It stands on four curved legs. Upholstered in yellow chiselled velvet (accidents and restorations, crooked legs, traces of woodworm).
According to a certificate from Mr Xavier Peticol dated 22 April 1974, which was presented to us during an old inventory, this chair was stamped by master carpenter Jacques Lechartier. As the seat has been reupholstered, we have been unable to locate this stamp, which has probably been hidden by upholstery work carried out after the certificate was issued.
