Description
French School of the 1920s and 1930s
A branch of a cherry or plum tree.
Watercolour and gouache
A very interesting work with influences from China or Japan. Watercolour is used for the dark backgrounds and gouache for the flowers. The gouache is applied thickly and is almost reminiscent of enamelling. This lends the work a great deal of depth.
Small tears along the edges.
50 x 65 cm
