Sibylle MAY (19th–20th centuries) for Evolution. Woman with a balloon, c. 1925. Sculpture in polychrome crackled earthenware with gold highlights. Signed ‘Sibille May’ on the plinth, with the ‘Evolution’ stamp beneath the base. 20 x 15.5 x 8.5 cm This piece was probably exhibited at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris.
