[VENDÉE]. ROMAIN (Félix, Count of). MEMOIRS OF A ROYALIST OFFICER, recounting his entry into service, his travels in Corsica and Italy, his emigration, his campaigns with the Army of Condé, and that of 1815 in the Vendée. P., Égron, 1824–29. Four tomes in three in-8 volumes, bound in contemporary temporary covers, with a paper title label on the spine, plus a modern cloth slipcase; the whole set in a modern cloth slipcase. FIRST EDITION. The complete text of the 4th tome, with its own title page, bound into the third volume and entitled “Account of certain events concerning the War in the Vendée, relating solely to the inhabitants of Anjou” and, at the end, the “Appendix to the Memoirs of a Royalist Officer” dated ‘1849’ (65 pp.). ENCLOSED: A red wax seal bearing three fleurs-de-lys and the inscription “Armée vendéenne d’Anjou”, attributed to the Count de Romain, as well as a PUBLICATION of some thirty pages extracted from the journal *L’Anjou historique* entitled *Le Miracle des Ulmes (2 June 1668)*, the whole bound in a canvas folder in in-8 format.
