BUDÉ (Guillaume). *Commentarii linguae graecae*. Paris, Jodocus Badius Ascensius, September 1529. Folio (335 x 222 mm), brown calfskin spine, with some loss, and without the covers. A rare first edition of Budé’s masterful work on Greek prose, with a few careful original annotations. Title printed in red and black within a wood-engraved frame bearing the printer Ascensius’s mark, with wood-engraved initials in a cross-hatched style. Bound copy, very fresh inside. Collation complete, including the final blank leaf. Title page torn, soiled, with small losses.
