Leiden, Pieter Van der Aa, [c. 1720]. 2 folio volumes, in contemporary yellow cardboard binding, rear spine in vellum, entirely untrimmed. Vol. I: 43 double-page views; Vol. II: 72 double-page views; each title page printed in red and black and adorned with an engraved vignette. An important atlas devoted entirely to the city of Venice, adorned with 115 engraved views illustrating not only the city’s art and architecture but also its festivities (Carnival, public boxing, regattas on the canals, fireworks, bullfighting, etc.). The folding map, engraved after Blaeu’s (Volume I), is missing. Ex-libris of Dr Perrusset and Vroom (Pierre Bergé auction, lot 369 of 15 November 2019, at which time it was complete with the fold-out map). SB
