Made of cardboard covered with taupe velvet, with a bourdalou trimmed with gold thread braid, scale-patterned brass chinstraps, and a gilded brass plate adorned with the Imperial Eagle on a pomegranate; leather visor, underside painted green, leather inner cap with wolf’s-tooth trim. Painted tricolour metal cockade, orange pompom. Condition: shows signs of wear but is in fairly good condition. Presidency period, Napoleon III.
