A German violin from the Wolff brothers’ workshop, made in 1903 in Kreuznach (a town in Bavaria, annexed by France during the Revolution and the Napoleonic era). It bears an original label from this workshop, founded in 1864 by Leopold and Ferdinand Wolff. The bulk of their production was sold in England. Slight warping of the soundpost on the top, but no apparent cracks. The table joint has come away beneath the tailpiece. Red-orange varnish, 360 mm. Sold as is. A bow is included.
