Jules Blanchard was a French sculptor, the son-in-law of Denis Foyatier and a pupil of François Jouffroy. He exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon and received several awards during his career, including a gold medal at the 1889 World’s Fair. His works can be seen in Paris, notably in the Jardin du Luxembourg, where *La Bocca della Verità* and *Andromeda* are located, as well as at the Musée d’Orsay, which houses several of his sculptures and medallions.
