Obverse: Coat of arms of Geneva within a circle: an imperial eagle on the left and the Key of St Peter on the right,
surmounted by the sun bearing the monogram IHS. Peripheral legend: ‘POST · TENE-BRAS · LUX ·
’, the Genevan motto meaning ‘After darkness, light’.
Reverse: The denomination ‘10 CENTIMES’ centred above the year ‘1839’. Peripheral legend:
‘REP · ET CANT · DE GENEVE’.
Edge: Smooth.
Gross weight: 3.20 g.
Metal and fineness: Billon, 150 silver.
Diameter: 22 mm.
Thickness: approx. 1.05 mm.
Face value: 10 centimes.
Orientation: Coin strike, 6 o’clock.
Strike quality: Circulation coin.
Condition: TTB+; well-preserved relief, silvery-grey patina and a few
