Obverse: A contemporary reinterpretation of the figure of Hercules, flanked by the allegories of Liberty and Equality, based on the design created by Augustin Dupré in the late 18th century. Peripheral inscription: ‘ LIBERTY, EQUALITY, FRATERNITY’. Year 2012 in the exergue. Adapted and engraved by Joaquin Jimenez. Reverse: Face value ‘EURO 10’ in the centre, accompanied by oak and laurel branches and set within a geometric composition evoking a hexagon. Legend ‘RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE ’. Edge: Smooth. Gross weight: 10.00 g. Metal and fineness: 500 silver. Diameter: 29 mm. Thickness: 1.80 mm. Face value: 10 euros. Mint: Monnaie de Paris, Pessac. Orientation: Medal strike, 12 o’clock. Strike quality: Circulation issue, designated ‘Quasi Brillant Universel’ on the accompanying certificate. Condition: SUP; encapsulated, with certificate of authenticity.
