PRIVATE ISSUE – APOLLO 11 – Commemorative medal ‘Astronauten der Apollo 11 Mission’ – first moon landing, 1969. Obverse: Portraits of the three members of the Apollo 11 crew: Edwin E. Aldrin, Neil A. Armstrong and Michael Collins. At the bottom, the Apollo 11 mission emblem; German inscription ‘ ASTRONAUTEN DER APOLLO 11 MISSION’. Reverse: An astronaut on the lunar surface in front of the lunar module and the US flag; the globe in the field. Inscriptions: ‘MONDLANDUNG’, ‘APOLLO 11’ and the date ‘21. JULI 1969’, corresponding to the European date of the first step on the Moon. Gross weight: 15.00 g. Metal and fineness: 900 silver. Condition: SUP; contrasting dark patina.
