Domenico Mattei alias Domingo (1783-1868) was the eldest son of Count Paolo Mattei, deputy for Corsica at the assembly of notables in Paris in 1789 and the King's commissioner in Corsica in 1790. After emigrating to Puerto Rico around 1803, he returned to Corsica in 1811 and built himself a house in Centuri.
