Description
André Citroën, RARE battery-powered children's vehicle known as the "Citroënette". 1/3 scale model of the C4/C6 produced between 1928 and 1932. The seat is in wood covered with moleskin and adjustable to the child's size, the wheels are mounted on inflatable tyres (two rear wheels deflated), wooden dashboard. The battery powers the engine, front and rear lights and horn. The body is made of sheet metal on a wooden frame, and has been previously restored (minor dents and pitting on the wings) - as is. Height: 79 cm; Length: 190 cm; Width: 76 cm To promote its new products, Citroën stepped up its publicity for the Citroën C4/C6, using children as spokespeople. In his opinion, a child's first three words should be "Dad, Mum, Citroën". He wanted to appeal to parents through children. Numerous Citroënette races were organised in holiday resorts such as Deauville to promote these little vehicles to an enthusiastic public.
