A self-taught artist, Sylvie Dala met the surrealist painter Edmont Maurice Pérot (Blumenthal Foundation laureate, Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters) in 2000 and became his pupil. She draws her inspiration from nature, people and objects to create a dreamlike, poetic world rich in symbolism. In 2019, she illustrated two volumes of fables by Guy Leray and has received several awards (in 2019: the Conti Collection Fantastique Prize awarded by the jury at the Salon de l’Artistique de l’Isle Adam; in 2022, the People’s Choice Award at the 54th Salon des Beaux-Arts de Coyes-la-Forêt; in 2024, the People’s Choice Award at the 56th Salon des Beaux-Arts in Coyes-la-Forêt; and in 2025, first prize for oil painting at the ‘Les Couleurs de l’Art’ street painting competition in Beaumont-sur-Oise).
