Contemporary half-leather binding on five drawn-through bands with handwritten title on the spine and coloured edges on the reverse (slightly rubbed). First and only edition of one of the major works by the orthodox Lutheran theologian Michael Förtsch (1654–1724). – VD18 12753033. - Contains Parts I. ‘Demonstrated and Explained in the Divine Life of Enoch’, II. ‘Designated and Discussed in the Sources of Comfort from Christ to Noah’, III. ‘Instructed in the Stillness of the Spirit from the Mouth of Christ’. Michael Förtsch served as a professor and university preacher at the universities of Frankfurt (Oder), Tübingen and Jena. His career also included a period as court preacher in Copenhagen and several terms as rector in Jena. - The typographically elaborate title page in red and black. - The frontispiece is a copperplate engraving with etching by Johann Georg Mentzel, dated 1715 on the plate. - Slightly browned throughout; a copy in remarkably good condition overall.
