Düntzer, Heinrich A handwritten letter, signed by the philologist (1813–1901), to Paul Strauss in Frankfurt am Main. Cologne, 7 December 1886. 1 page on 1 sheet. Approx. 18 x 11.5 cm. With accompanying envelope. Düntzer offers his assistance in explaining a letter: “Prince Konstantin and Court Councillor Albrecht (had) set out on their journey to Switzerland and Italy on 11 June 1781. Knebel was in Ilmenau with Goethe at the end of June; the Duke’s letter must have been sent there, and Knebel had also written from there … The Duke’s signature reads C.A. Hz/S (Duke of Saxony) …” – 3 horizontal creases, slightly foxed, otherwise generally well preserved. Autograph letter signed by the philologist (1813–1901) to Paul Strauss in Frankfurt am Main.
