A collection comprising 2 typewritten letters, as well as 5 typewritten and 3 handwritten postcards, each bearing the German writer’s handwritten signature, addressed to his young pen-friend and admirer Marie-Agnes Leclerq (1928–2024, married name Möbius) in Dresden. Berlin, 1940–1943. The letters are on paper with a typographic address header (3 sheets, each approx. 29.5 x 21 cm); 5 of the postcards have been sent (1 stamp missing).
Paul Eipper (1887–1957) was a bookseller and long-standing publishing director at S. Fischer Verlag; he is regarded as one of the most important authors of books on animals of the 20th century. - Some items have foxing; the letters are folded in half; overall in good condition. - Also included: 1 typewritten postcard and 1 typewritten letter with a handwritten note by Eipper’s wife Emmy on his letterhead. - P.
