Expressing thanks for the congratulations on his 75th birthday. – Traces of having been folded twice, a few tears at the margins, partly with some foxing, otherwise in good condition. – Enclosed: Hans Georg von Mackensen. Handwritten letter bearing the signature of the German diplomat (1883–1947) to a prince. Berlin, 26 March 1919. 4 pages on 1 double sheet (each approx. 21 x 13.2 cm). On letterhead of the Foreign Office. - Mackensen, son of August von Mackensen, was an SS-Gruppenführer and German diplomat who served at various times as State Secretary in the Foreign Office and as German Ambassador to Rome. On official letterhead of the Foreign Office. - Horizontal centre fold; the first page has a slight rust mark from a paper clip on the outer edge, slightly creased, but generally in good condition.
