Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – Lower Saxony A guest book containing over 2,000 entries and signatures from numerous visitors, some of whom were regulars, including many members of the nobility and well-known figures. It also contains a few, mostly small, drawings and one mounted photograph. Mainly Ludwigslust and Poggenhagen. 1889–1997. 4°. Dark red contemporary leather with white, ornamental corner fittings (traces of a removed centre piece; rubbed, bumped, stained). Contains entries at the beginning from Krauschow/Züllichau Castle (1900) and subsequently some from Cologne (Cöln). Subsequently, up to the 1950s, some entries were addressed to an Elisabeth in Ludwigsburg, whose surname is not given. – These include, amongst others: Elisabeth (née von Rohr) and Henning von Bassewitz, von Below, Hans von Bülow, Albert, Alhard, Berta, Joachim, Karl and Lucie von Burgsdorff, Lieutenant Erich Dreher, von Gauthier, Hertha von Mecklenburg, Bruno von Nathusius, Dorle, Louise, Wilhelmine, Carl, Ernst von Plüskow, Hans-Carl von Prittwitz, Hanna and Lazar Count Schmettow, Olga, Baroness, and Hans, Baron von Stein, Ursula, Ewald, Gerald and Günther von Stünzner, Margarethe and Henning von Sydow, Hasso von Wedel, Wilhelm von Zanthier, Blassmeyer, von Hoffmann, von Kirchbach, von Maltzahn, Poensgen, Spies von Büllesheim, Waitz von Eschen, von Westrell, von Winterfeldt. - From the 1960s onwards, a guest book kept by Ragna and Hans-Georg (presumably Hans-Georg Friedrich, owner of the company Teicher-Saaten) at the Lindenhof in Poggenhagen. - Featuring entries by ‘Mama Amelie’, Karl Engel (1923–2006, pianist, including a musical stave), Gerhard Hamann (1935–2000, cellist, including a drawing), the Prince and Princess of Hohenzollern, Ingeborg Lindau, Friederike von der Osten, Prince Philipp von Rübenberge, Sontraud Speidel (b. 1944, pianist), Christiane Wilamowitz, Gisela von Wilamowitz-Moellendorff, von Hake, Ariane von Sydow and many others, often referred to only by their first names. - Including on the occasion of the following events: silver wedding anniversary on 19 May 1901, Lalla’s wedding on 16 March 1905, Ludwigslust/Aunt Wilhelmine’s 90th birthday (1936), Gisela’s wedding (1943), a hunting trip on 6 November 1965 (Poggenmoor), musical evenings 1969–81, Niels Strobek exhibition / opening in Lindau in 1973, Verena’s schnapps party in 1976, concert at St Boniface’s Church in 1976, Verena and Hans’s stag and hen parties in 1978, evening drinks in 1979, Prof. Karl Engel’s farewell concert 1986 at the R.C. Ballhof, farewell concert at the Lindenhof 1989, various dinners, Christmas and birthday celebrations. - Slightly yellowed due to the paper, occasionally with minor stains; the book block is coming apart at the edges; 1 cut-out; 1 page loose; otherwise generally in good condition.
