Surrealism Breton, André An interesting collection of 10 documents relating to André Breton’s book rights. Circa 1951–1962. Mostly typewritten carbon copies of letters and synopses. Includes two copies of an extensive document written by Breton in 1951 concerning the reprinting of his books, as well as suggestions for new titles, addressed to René Bertelé for the attention of Gaston Gallimard. Includes a covering letter from Breton’s solicitor, Bomsel. Furthermore, three versions of a typewritten letter with handwritten corrections by Breton regarding the transfer of rights for publications originally published by Jean-Claude Fasquelle to the publisher Jean-Claude Pauvert. Also includes letters from the solicitors Edmond and Emile-Jean Bomsel. - Some slight crease marks. The carbon copies in particular are discoloured. Overall in good condition.
