Description
Thelen, Albert Vigoleis
A collection of three typewritten letters, each bearing the author’s (1903–1989) handwritten signature, addressed to the publisher Karl Rauch in Bad Salzig. Amsterdam, 10 and 12 January and 6 March 1950. One page each on a single sheet (approx. 28 x 21.5 cm).
Concerns Rauch’s refusal to publish the works of Pascoaes (“the publisher who brings out this poet must be capable of the passion to assert him even in the face of a world of hostile attitudes. Meulenhoff here possesses this quality, but Rascher, on the other hand, does not...”) and Thelen’s translation of *Napoleon* (“I would call it … brilliant in its absurdity”). - Each with punch holes, showing crease marks and a mark in the top left-hand corner; partly browned due to the paper; 1 leaf with a few small marginal discolorations; overall in good condition.
