Wagner, Winifred A typewritten letter, bearing the handwritten signature of Richard Wagner’s only daughter-in-law (1887–1980), addressed to the Berlin Concert Choir. Bayreuth, 3 May 1974. 1 page on 1 sheet (approx. 15 x 21 cm) with printed address letterhead and watermark. Letter from Richard Wagner’s daughter-in-law, who was originally from England and a friend of Hitler’s; following Cosima’s death, she initially took over the management of the Bayreuth Festival and later handed it over to her son Wieland. - Declines a “kind invitation … to attend your concert performance of ‘Rienzi’” due to a stay in Sweden. - Punched, crease marks, slightly creased at the bottom right-hand corner, otherwise in good condition.
