An extensive collection of over 100 documents and letters from the estate of the former Imperial Judicial Inspector Hermann Rintisch. 1863–1946.
Rintisch was apparently employed as a secretary in the Government Office of the German colony in Cameroon between 1905 and 1907. - Includes pay and service rosters for, amongst others, soldiers at the district office in Cameroon, Rintisch’s certificates, documents confirming his employment, various invoices and documents relating to his retirement. These include several letters from Albert Heinrich Schnee, Director of the Imperial Colonial Office, as well as from Eduard Tigges, then President of the Berlin Court of Appeal. - Also included: maps of the German colonies on the African continent, buttons, photographs of women, pictures from ‘Uniforms of the Navy and Protectorate Forces’, and a 25 Francs Francaisse coin from Togo, 1937. - Some documents show significant wear to the edges and tears. Text remains intact. Overall, a well-preserved and extensive collection.
